SARANAC LAKE — The North Country Sports Council has appointed Nathan Cheney director of membership and business affairs. In his role as director, Cheney will oversee membership development, business operations, and strategic partnerships, furthering the Council’s mission to promote sport and recreation throughout the North Country. He operates out of the organization’s Saranac Lake office.

Cheney, a recent Paul Smith’s College alumnus in Digital Marketing and Business Management with a bachelor of science, was a Dean’s List graduate and Adirondack Scholar. A native of Cadyville, he’s remained closely associated with the Adirondack region since graduation, employed in regional business and nonprofit roles that focus on marketing, outreach and community development.

A long-time champion of the Adirondacks, Cheney has long had a personal stake in the region and remains a vocal champion of opportunities that first put local resources and voices on the agenda.

Cheney began work with the North Country Sports Council on July 1.
