MALONE — For every vehicle sold during the month of May, Malone Ford pledged to donate $50 to Homeward Bound Adirondacks.
On June 6, Doug Gilmour, owner of Malone Ford and a United States Marine Corps veteran, proudly presented a $4,000 donation to Valerie Ainsworth, executive director of Homeward Bound Adirondacks.
“As a Marine veteran, supporting our fellow veterans is a personal mission,” Gilmour said. “We’re proud to stand with Homeward Bound Adirondacks in helping local veterans reclaim their lives and find hope beyond trauma.”
Homeward Bound Adirondacks is a regional nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the emotional well-being of veterans, providing crisis outreach, suicide prevention and fostering healing through peer-to-peer support, outdoor programs and community connections.
“This generous donation from Malone Ford and Doug Gilmour will directly help veterans in crisis,” Ainsworth said. “Community partnerships like this are vital to ensuring our veterans get the support they deserve. We are deeply grateful for this commitment to their well-being.”
Plans are also underway for a new veterans retreat center in Malone to create a permanent healing sanctuary for those who have served.
