SARANAC LAKE — In its first-ever Zoom induction attended by members from several states, Beta Mu, the Adirondack Park chapter of the New York State Organization, Delta Kappa Society International Gamma of Leading Women Educators (DKG), formally welcomed three educators on Sept. 16.

The newest Beta Mu chapter members are Linda Grant and Dawn Pietras, recently retired from the Saranac Lake Central School District. Pam Martin, a retired secondary principal with the Tupper Lake Central School District, was originally inducted in 2004 and welcomed back as a reinstated member.

Beta Mu Chapter President Beryl Szwed presented the DKG key pins and red roses to the new members on Oct. 24 in a brief, socially distant ceremony at the Saranac Lake Interfaith Food Pantry, where they and other Beta Mu members Anne Cooney and RoseAnn Hickey are regular volunteers.
