SLVHA awards $1,500 scholarships

Edina Cecunjanin

SARANAC LAKE — The Saranac Lake Voluntary Health Association congratulates the winners of its annual scholarships for second-year North Country Community College students in the registered nurse and radiologic technology programs.

This year’s three winners are all RN students: Edina Cecunjanin of Saranac Lake, attending NCCC on the Saranac Lake campus, and Jessica Supernault of Moriah and Lindsey Downie of Champlain, both attending NCCC in Ticonderoga.

This year each winner was awarded a $1,500 scholarship. Each winning applicant has to complete a brief essay, be in good academic standing and submit two letters of recommendation.

Cecunjanin recently graduated from NCCC with her licensed practical nursing degree and is now working toward her RN degree.

“Achieving my RN allows me to be more involved with patients and provide better care,” she said in a statement. “I’m thankful to the SLVHA for their help so I can achieve my career goals. I thought the application process was fairly easy and worth the extra effort.”
