Keene Valley’s Kayla Hebert passes Social Security test

Kayla Hebert

Keene Valley native Kayla Hebert, a paralegal with the Law Office of Mark Schneider in Plattsburgh, recently completed and passed the “Non-Attorney Disability Representative” test administered by the Social Security Administration.

This test certifies non-attorneys with Social Security to represent people in their disability appeal cases. It is given nationally, once-a-year, to non-lawyers from all over the country.

The test is very rigorous and comprehensive. It certifies that Ms. Hebert is thoroughly acquainted with the laws, regulations, and requirements for receiving Social Security and SSI disability benefits. It certifies that she is highly qualified to represent claimants for Social Security and SSI (Supplemental Security Income) at appeal hearings with Social Security judges. To win a Social Security or SSI claim at a hearing, it is critical to have an experienced and competent representative who can gather and present the medical evidence and testimony to the judge.

Hebert is the only certified non-attorney disability representatives in the North Country for Clinton, Franklin and Essex counties. Ms. Hebert is currently representing clients in their appeal hearings in her role as a paralegal at the Law Office of Mark Schneider. She has a master’s degree in Social Work and has worked for Attorney Schneider since August of 2019 as a paralegal. Mark Schneider will also continue to represent claimants at Social Security hearings and in federal court appeals.

The Mark Schneider Law Office concentrates in Social Security and SSI appeals at the administrative and federal court levels. Mr. Schneider has 39 years of experience with Social Security law.
