A call to action for women’s Nordic combined

On June 24, the International Olympic Committee will decide on whether or not to admit women’s Nordic combined into the Winter Olympics. Nordic combined is the only sport in the Winter Olympics in which women do not currently compete.

There has been a heavy push from competitors, coaches and supporters of Nordic combined to add the women’s category to the Olympics since voting for the 2022 Olympic Winter Games in Beijing commenced.

Nordic combined, a sport that combines ski jumping and cross country skiing, is one of the six original Winter Olympic disciplines.

Women’s Nordic combined was added to the Junior World Championships in 2019, the Youth Olympic Winter Games in 2020, established their first World Cup Series in 2020-21 and was added to the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in 2021.

USA Nordic Sport is now asking people to sign a petition supporting this effort.

After being denied the right to compete in Beijing, the movement for women’s Nordic combined to be added to the 2026 Olympic Winter Games in Milan is already in motion.

USA Nordic advocates and supporters of women’s Nordic combined being added to Milan 2026 plan to continue their push to add the category to the Olympics.

USA Nordic is calling for friends, fans, athletes and supporters to join them in supporting women’s Nordic combined by asking that it be added to the 2026 Winter Olympics by signing its petition at https://tinyurl.com/yx5j85w4.
