Levitt lifts Bombers to win
LAKE PLACID — Kendra Levitt buried a goal in overtime as the Lake Placid girls soccer team defeated the Chazy Eagles 1-0 on Thursday.
Levitt’s goal, which came off an assist from Cecilia Norfolk, was scored a little more than two minutes into overtime. The Blue Bombers are now 6-4-1 overall and have won five of their last six games.
“It was a hard-fought game that could have gone either way,” Lake Placid’s head coach Heather Brewer said. “Both teams had some chances, but our best chance came early into the first overtime when Cecilia Norfolk sent the ball over the top for Kendra Levitt to run onto and she was able to create a breakaway and finish a shot into the far side of the net.”
The Eagles finished with a 7-6 advantage in shots as the Blue Bombers’ goalie, Emma Clark, had six saves. Chazy’s Sylvie Brassard recorded five.
Up next, Lake Placid will host Schroon Lake at 4 p.m. today.
