LAKE PLACID — The Lake Placid girls soccer team suffered a 3-0 loss on Wednesday to the Boquet Valley Griffins at home.
The Griffins’ Emma Conley led the way with a goal and an assist, while Claire Reynolds and Margot Hall each added a goal. Boquet Valley’s Daisy Cushman chipped in with an assist.
With the win, the Griffins, which finished as the Section VII, Class D runner-ups, improved to an undefeated 3-0 record. Meanwhile, Lake Placid dropped to 1-2 overall. The Blue Bombers defeated Moriah 3-2 in their season-opener, and lost 3-1 to Keene earlier this week.
Conley opened up the scoring on Wednesday with a goal, following a pass from Cushman.
The Griffins then extended their lead to 2-0 when the ball deflected off a Blue Bombers defender and bounced into the back of the net. With Reynolds being the last Boquet Valley player to touch the ball, she was credited with the goal.

Emma Clark had three saves for the Blue Bombers, while Boquet Valley’s Ella Pulsifer had seven.
Up next, Lake Placid is slated to take on the Chazy Eagles on the road at 6 p.m. today. Following that, the team will return to their home field at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday to face off against the Ticonderoga Sentinels.
