LAKE PLACID — The first of two lacrosse events, conducted by Summit Lacrosse Ventures, kicked off in Lake Placid on Monday.

The Lake Placid Summit Youth Classic, at the North Elba Athletic, will continue until Wednesday.

According to the Summit Lacrosse Ventures website, the LPSYC will showcase more than 40 boys youth lacrosse teams competing in five different divisions — 10U, 12U, 14U Gold, 14U Silver and 16U.

Following the LPSYC, Summit Lacrosse will host the 33rd Lake Placid Summit Classic from Aug. 1 to 7.

The Summit Classic showcases two tournaments over the course of a week starting with the scholastic tournament — consisting of youth, high school and college-age players — followed by the adult tournament, which includes a 65 and older age group.
