LAKE PLACID — Three local golfers drained hole-in-one shots recently on courses in the North Country.

Two of those aces were recorded on the Lake Placid Resort’s Mountain Course. Rick Ano scored an ace on the par 3, 17th hole with a five iron from 150 yards out. He was playing in a group with Trevor Arno, Ed Orsi and Fred Betters.

Lake Placid resort member Dave Zientko also achieved the feat, scoring a hole-in-one on the par-3, 15th. Zientko sank the shot from 165 yards out using a six iron. He was in a threesome with members Tom and Christine Warden.

On Sunday, Aug. 9, Larry Pickreign recorded a hole-in-one at Bluff Point in Plattsburgh. He drained the shot on the par-3, 175-yard fifth hole with a five wood. That hole is nestled along the shoreline of Lake Champlain. Pickreign was playing with Evan Durfee.
