Jamming at Whiteface

WILMINGTON — Whiteface Mountain hosted the first competition of the USASA Adirondack Series with a Rail Jam Event on Sunday, December 15, with a number of participants from NYSEF turning in shining results.

The contests featured skiers and snowboarders competing in divisions ranging from nine and under to 14-22. Although there was a slight wind hold, the Rail Jam was a success and it was a great start to the season

Yvetta Hofrichter of Jay won the girls nine-and-under freeski, Logan Casey of Jay took first in the boys 10-13 snowboard, Samuel Rausch of Townsend, Massachusetts claimed first in the boys 10-13 freeski, Wilmington’s Shannon Bentley claimed top honors in the women’s 14-22 snowboard, Saranac Lake’s Robbie Sinclair placed first in the 14-22 men’s snowboard, and Elias Ford of Lake Placid won the men’s 14-22 freeski. Malone’s Mark Bilow finished runner-up in the 14-22 men’s freeski and Tyler Wood of Lake Placid placed third.
