Decked out for the 10th Annual Jingle Bell Run

Christmas lights don’t always have to go on the tree.

LAKE PLACID — Instead of “Decking the Halls,” participants decked themselves out in creative costumes for the 10th Annual Adirondack Health 2.5-mile Jingle Bell Run held in Lake Placid on Saturday, Dec. 14.

The course circled Mirror Lake Drive and started and ended at the village beach.

Aiden Hesseltine and Hailey Fremante took the male and female top honors in the race, which featured a field of 116 men, women and youngsters who were no doubt in the thick of the holiday spirit.

Hesseltine was the first runner to cross the line, clocking the overall fastest time of 17 minutes, 9.2 seconds. Fremante was second overall, finishing in 17:18.9.

Aaron Hesseltine placed third in 18:57.6, John Vandish was fourth in 19:05.9 and Darci LaFave rounded out the top five with a 19:15.6 result.

Leah Valerio celebrates a strong finish.

The following photos were provided by Adirondack Health and capture the imaginative outfits participants came up with to celebrate a traditonal event of the holiday season in the Olympic Region.
