Clancy van Laer, of Ray Brook, joins members of the Saranac Lake Surge for a group photo Saturday at Memorial Field in Concord, New Hampshire. Clancy traveled with his father Scott to watch the Surge play two games over the weekend against the New Hampshire Wild. The van Laers were treated to a 15-6 Surge win Saturday, and then watched Saranac Lake’s newest team fall in a thriller Sunday when the Surge’s six-run rally to tie in the ninth wound up as a 14-13 setback in 10 innings. The Surge triumphed 7-2 on Monday to improve to 3-2. Saranac Lake has one more game remaining against the Wild in New Hampshire on Tuesday and then head to Plattsburgh to take on the Thunderbirds for a five-game series starting Wednesday at Lefty Wilson Field.
