LAKE PLACID — The Placid Planet bicycle time trials series continued Wednesday this week, and organizer Kenny Boettger has added a seventh race in the series with an awards barbecue afterward.

Two dozen riders competed against the clock on an 8-mile course which started at the ski jump end of Riverside Drive in Lake Placid. The race is a staggered start that begins at 6:30 p.m. each Wednesday through June 12. Although the race is free and open to the public, Boettger asks that riders bring a non-perishable food item for donation to charity.

After the final race June 12, there will be an awards barbecue.
