Lake Placid golfers move to 2-0

The Lake Placid golf team has had a tough time getting on golf courses to compete early in the season.

But when the Blue Bombers have been able to play, they’ve gotten the job done.

On Friday, the five-time defending Champlain Valley Athletic Conference champions improved to 2-0 with a 5.5-.5 victory over AuSable Valley at the Harmony Golf Club.

Playing in the top spot for Lake Placid, Hunter Wilmot fired a medalist-round 41 to top Jeffery Miller by four strokes. Miller’s 45 was the low round for the Patriots.

Brady Tremblay, Jack Armstrong, Cole Jacques and Brendan Bullock also picked up wins for Lake Placid.

Tremblay topped Jack Thomas 47-50, Armstrong defeated Connor Bushey 46-60, Jacques edged Josh Eaton 54-55, and Bullock defeated Jasmyn Allen 54-58.

Noah Tavares also earned a half point for Lake Placid, finishing in a 56-56 tie with AuSable Valley’s Lucas Strack.

The Blue Bombers will be back in action today, hosting rival Saranac Lake at the Craig Wood Golf Club starting at 3:30 p.m.
