Cyclists gather for solstice benefit

LAKE PLACID — The Summer Solstice Time Trial benefit brought together several of the area’s top riders for one last timed event along Riverside Drive on Wednesday.

The event was hosted by Placid Planet Bicycles, and raised money and contributions for the Lake Placid Ecumenical Food Pantry.

Bill McGreevey put down the fastest time of the night with his finish in 17 minutes, 15 seconds over the approximately 8-mile course. Jim Walker wasn’t far behind in 17:45.

Caitlyn Skufka was the top female and third overall in 20:44.
