Early deficit dooms Tupper in semifinal
NORWOOD — The Tupper Lake baseball team fell behind early and never recovered Tuesday on the way to a 14-2 loss to Norwood-Norfolk in the semifinal round of the Section X, Class C tournament.
Norwood-Norfolk scored seven runs in the second inning, and pitcher Robert Voss took over from there with 11 strikeouts over the rest of the game. Voss helped his own cause at the plate by going 2-for-3.
Tupper Lake finished the season with an 0-15 record and was the No. 4 seed in the sectional tournament. The top-seeded Flyers will bring a 13-3 record into today’s championship game against Potsdam.
