Olympic gold medalist Mikaela Shiffrin competes in the 2016 Nature Valley U.S. Alpine Championships at Sun Valley, Idaho in March. Shiffrin is among the favorites in this weekend’s women’s World Cup slalom and giant slalom races at Killington Ski Resort in Vermont. Giant slalom is scheduled for Saturday, with slalom on Sunday. The last alpine World Cup skiing event held in New England was at Waterville Valley, New Hampshire in 1991, with American skier Julie Parisien winning the giant slalom at that event.
