LAKE PLACID – The Whiteface Club in Lake Placid crowned its 2016 golf champions over the weekend, and two of the three matches went to extra holes before the winners were decided.

The club championships included two regulation rounds of 18 holes played Saturday and Sunday, and the lone match that didn’t extend to a playoff was the women’s competition that saw Deb Ward top Caroline Roy to claim that championship.

In the open division, Mike Trunzo defeated John Rosenthal on the first playoff hole, while Dennis Chagnon knocked out Randy Quayle on the second playoff hole to take the senior championship.
