Eleanor M. Lacy (Levitt), 89, of Lake Placid passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at the Uihlein Mercy Center after a lengthy illness.
Eleanor is survived by her three children: Lloyd Levitt and close friend Charlotte, Katherine Schissler and her husband Frank of Halfmoon and John Lacy Jr. and his wife Kerry of Colton, one brother Raymond Levitt and his wife Sandra, one sister Patti Skeels and her husband Richard, all from Lake Placid; two grandchildren: David Schissler and his wife Mary from Dexter; Jessica Preston and her husband Tyler from Lake Placid; two stepchildren: Erin Sayles and Shane Rabideau; six great-grand-children and several nieces and nephews.
Eleanor will be remembered for her talent in baking by many people in the area.
She loved reading and watching hockey games on television religiously. She was very proud of working at the Uihlein Mercy Center for 10 years and finally at The Mirror Lake Inn, until retiring, making many wonderful pastries and desserts.
Those that knew her enjoyed her laughter and good spirit. She will be missed by us all.
There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be held in the North Elba Cemetery in Lake Placid in the late spring.
