LAKE PLACID - Brian Ready and Fade to Blues will perform from 9 p.m. to midnight Saturday at Delta Blue.
Former southern Connecticut resident and guitar slinger, Brian B. Ready, relocated to the Adirondacks in 2008.
After performing with numerous bands in and around Fairfield and Westchester Counties, and in New York City for 15 years, he formed Fade to Blues in December 2005.
The band entered the Connecticut Blues Society's annual Blues Challenge a month later and was one of the top three blues bands in the state for three years running. Their CD entitled "In the Dark," was released in May 2006 and received regional, national, European and South American airplay.
"I moved to Saranac Lake in November of 2008, and have spent the last few years waiting and looking for the right side men," Ready said. "I knew that I needed seasoned players with big ears and 'Chops.' When attending the Open Mic/Blues Jam at Delta Blue in Lake Placid this past fall, and sitting in with the house band, I knew immediately that these were the guys needed to reform the band. Olympic Luge Medalist Gordy Sheer, on drums, is rock solidand joyous when he plays. Derick LaVoieis inventive, locked in and funky. Andrew Lynch on guitar is young, studied, and has 'tone to the bone.' You can't go wrong with this combination."
A typical evening's set list includes songs from many Texas guitar legends like Johnny Winter, SRV, Albert Collins and Freddie King, as well as some funk, classic rock, fusion, a little bit of swing, as well as Fade to Bluesoriginals. In this two guitar blues band, there are Cuttin' contests throughoutthe evening. Guitar duels? Yes! And, stage theatrics to boot. Fade to Blues, with Brian, Derick, Gordy and Andrew, are guaranteed to rock the house.
With the reformation of Fade to Blues in the Tri-Lakes area, Ready will bring "Texas Heat" to the Adirondacks. The band will be returning to Delta Blue, in Lake Placid on July 26 at 9 p.m.
