In the early morning hours of March 4, 2014, John H. Kane Jr. passed away at Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake with his loving wife by his side.
Born in Tupper Lake on Oct. 20, 1963, he was the son of John Henry Kane Sr. and Sandra (Rondeau) Kane.
John was an avid outdoorsman and a lover of animals. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and observing wildlife.
John worked as a stone mason, and for many years he was employed by Hollrock's in Lake Placid doing concrete and foundation work until a back injury left him permanently disabled.
John is survived by his wife, Amanda (Maddox) Kane; two stepsons, Anthony Lawrence and Frankie Lawrence; his mother, Sandra Kane of Lake Placid; a brother, Jeffrey Kane and his wife Jessica; a sister, Melissa Ratkovits; a son, Evan Poines of Colorado; his former wife, Melissa (Bond) Kane of Saranac Lake; his daughter, Shaylee Kane; his son, Keegun Kane; and a grandson, Landen Talbot. He was preceded in death by his father.
A memorial service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the High Peaks Church, 97 Will Rogers Drive, Saranac Lake. All who knew him are welcome to attend.
