First Night rings in 2014

December 26, 2013
Adirondack Daily Enterprise

SARANAC LAKE - Saranac Lake is proud to be one of 65 First Night cities in the USA. First Night began in Boston more than 35 years ago as a family-oriented, alcohol-free celebration of the arts to welcome in the New Year.

Your First Night button is your admission to all the venues. Please wear your button on your outer clothing for quick access to venues.

Buttons can be purchased in advance for $12. On the day of the event, Dec. 31, buttons will be sold for $15, only at the Harrietstown Town Hall (39 Main St.) and Ampersound Music (52B Main St.).

Children 12 and under are admitted free and will be given a special children's button at the venues.

Buttons are on sale at the following locations through Dec. 30: Ampersound Music, Blue Line Sports, Adirondack Daily Enterprise, the Saranac Lake Area Chamber of Commerce office and Coakley High Peaks Ace Hardware in Saranac Lake, and in Lake Placid, Price Chopper and the Lake Placid Convention and Visitors Bureau.

First Night headquarters will be in the Harrietstown Town Hall on the day of the event.

Be flexible - there's plenty of entertainment to go around, but you may not be able to attend a specific performance if the venue is already full.

VENUES

Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis, and all sites will be emptied after each performance and before the next audience is admitted. Each performance begins on the hour. See the schedule for more details.
