SARANAC - The Saranac Lake boys soccer team improved its record to 3-0 on Friday with a 3-1 victory over Saranac Central.

Aaron Noel scored two goals and Bradley Shumway assisted on all three goals to lead the Red Storm. Jeremy Barge accounted for Saranac Lake's other goal.

"We did not play our best game tonight, but we did enough things right to get the win," said Saranac Lake coach Josh Marlow. "The game was sloppy due to a combination of a cold rain and gusty wind."

Oliver Holmes recorded 10 saves in goal for the Red Storm, who held a 38-12 advantage in shots. Jaret Wright of Saranac had 21 saves.

"I'm proud of our guys; they are finding ways to win," Marlow said. "I thought Saranac did a nice job tonight on defense. They bothered a lot of our shots."

Saranac Lake returns to action Tuesday at home against Northwood.
