Not ducking out on prize

June 17, 2013
Adirondack Daily Enterprise
Debbie McLean, left, of the Lake Placid Rotary Club, shakes hands with Gabrielle Quinn, who won $1,000 when her rubber duck crossed the finish line first Saturday at the 10th annual Rotary Dam Duck Race. The event featured hundreds of numbered rubber ducks, which people could sponsor for $10 each, racing from the upper Mill Pond Dam down the swollen Chubb River to the finish line next to Lisa G’s restaurant, which hosted the event. This year’s Dam Duck Race raised more than $13,000 for the rotary club, which uses the money to support projects that benefit the community.
