SARANAC LAKE - Petrova Elementary and Middle Schools have each received a $500 Exxon Mobil Educational Alliance grant to be used for math or science programs.

Exxon Mobil provides these grants to schools across the country on a first come first serve basis.

Tom Hyde, owner of Hyde Fuel, participates in this program every year and has been successful in years past as well in securing monies for our local schools.

These funds are meant to encourage the future generation to pursue careers in the fields involving math and science.

The schools thanked Carlos Gonzalez for being one of the first to submit applications to Exxon Mobil for these grants.

Four local schools, two here and two in Tupper Lake, have benefited from these funds this year.
