A forecast of sleet, snow and freezing rain forced numerous delays and closures across the Tri-Lakes area today.

This morning the Saranac Lake, Tupper Lake and Lake Placid central school districts were closed, as were AuSable Forks Elementary and AuSable Valley Middle/High School. The Keene and AuSable Valley central school districts and Holy Name Catholic school were on two-hour delays, and Paul Smith's College was expected to open at 10 a.m.

State police in Ray Brook reported no weather-related incidents this morning.

The National Weather Service forecasted freezing rain until about 11 a.m. today, followed by freezing rain and sleet. Temperatures were expected to hover around freezing, with less than 1 inch of ice accumulation.
