Millie Rush Watson Kirkner

Millie Rush Watson Kirkner, 72, of Lake Placid, went home to the Lord on Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at the Mercy Living Center, Tupper Lake.

She was born to John and Mildred Rush on Jan. 18, 1941 in Pleasantville, N.J. Home to her was Absecon, N.J., and Edna Rush was an influential part of her life.

Since 1978 Millie dedicated her time and energy to Creation Festival NE, a ministry dear to her. To know Millie was an indescribable gift. She influenced every path she crossed.

She is survived by two brothers: John Rush III and his wife Emily, and Leslie Rush and his wife Nina; two sisters: Edie Hsu (Rush) and Miriam Marion (Rush); six children: Donna (Watson) McDonald, Barbara Lawrence and her husband Alan, Frank Watson Jr. and his wife Debra, Teri Watson and her husband Freddie Hawkins, Cheri (Watson) Cathcart, and Daniel Watson II and his wife Gwen; 26 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren, not to overlook all those who regarded Millie as Banana Nana and Momma Roadrunner.

She was predeceased by her parents and her brother Vincent.

Calling hours will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, March 22 at the M. ,B. Clark Inc. Funeral Home, Lake Placid. A funeral service will follow at the funeral home at 6 p.m. The Rev. Bob Hess, pastor of the Wilmington Church of the Nazarene, will officiate. Andrew Borden, pastor of New Hope Church, Lake Placid, will assist. Cremation will follow.
