The Associated Press

INDIAN LAKE (AP) - State police in upstate New York said two people on separate snowmobiles have been killed in an accident in Indian Lake.

Authorities told the Glens Falls Post-Star the accident happened on the lake at 6:44 p.m. Saturday and involved two snowmobiles.

Details of the accident were not immediately available. State police said more information would be released today.

The accident was one of two fatal crashes involving snowmobiles in the Adirondacks on Saturday.

State police said a 47-year-old Herkimer County man was killed after his snowmobile went off a trail and crashed in the town of Ohio, about 60 miles northeast of Syracuse. Authorities said Scott Streeter was thrown from the sled and hit a tree. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
