Inlet: A quiet winter escape

January 29, 2013
Adirondack Daily Enterprise

The town of Inlet invites people to visit Inlet in the winter. With just over 400 year-round residents in the heart of the West Central Adirondacks, Inlet has access to about 1.2 million acres of Wild Forest and Wilderness within moments of its quaint downtown for every form of winter recreation.

Many generations of families have continued to come to Inlet for a fun-filled winter week where snow falls regularly and covers our forests with a magic white blanket of goodness filled with groomed trails to explore. Snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, sledding and ice-skating in Inlet are free of charge and available at the Fern Park recreational facility, along with restrooms and a warming hut. Rentals of snowshoes, skates and cross-country skis are available daily, and if snowmobiling is your passion, the Inlet area offers hundreds of miles of professionally groomed trails with the Town of Webb and Inlet trail system, where accommodations and eateries are easily accessible.

For more information on Inlet events, activities, accommodations, trails, attractions, restaurants, shops or services, stop by the information office located at the Inlet Town Hall, visit online at or call (866) GOINLET.
