ROUSES POINT - The Lake Placid boys hockey team got back on the winning track Wednesday with a 3-2 Champlain Valley Athletic Conference victory over Northeastern Clinton.

After falling behind after the first period, the Blue Bombers took control with three goals in the second. Eddie Kane accounted for the first two goals, both assisted by Shane McNierney, and Keegan Barney scored the third.

R.J. Reid was credited with assists on Kane's second goal and Barney's goal.

NCCS cut the lead to 3-2 when Kastle Birch found the back of the net at the 7:10 mark of the third.

Lake Placid outshot the Cougars 31-25. Jeffrey Smith manned the goalmouth for the Blue Bombers and made 23 saves.

It was the first victory in six games for Lake Placid (8-3-2), which started the season with seven straight wins. The Bombers return to action Saturday at home against Fulton.
