LAKE CLEAR - Jamie Sheffield announced his novel, "Here Be Monsters," was published on Jan. 1, 2013.
The book is available on Amazon in both paperback and Kindle formats as well as in bookstores.
"Here Be Monsters," a mystery set in the Adirondack Park, pitches Tyler Cunningham, a soft-boiled detective, into a criminal whirlwind for which he is entirely unprepared. Tyler lives at the edge of both the woods and human society, leaving a minimal footprint in the world, working only on those cases that interest him (and his insatiable hunger for knowledge), and not caring much about the people that he helps until a friend goes missing.
“Here Be Monsters” author Jamie Sheffield and his son, Ben.
Then Tyler is forced to change his approach to problem-solving and gets caught up in a violent and cruel conspiracy that he doesn't understand, and must survive. He ends up on an astonishing thrill-ride that takes him through the Adirondack Park, in a headlong rush towards a shocking conclusion deep in the wilderness.
Sheffield, who lives in Lake Clear, says "Here Be Monsters" takes a new look at the detective novel, turning many of the traditional assumptions and archetypes on their ears, and takes readers on a behind-the-scenes tour of the natural beauty of the Adirondack Park.
