An AuSable Forks man who broke into a local pharmacy in May 2011 has been sentenced to up to four years in state prison.

Scott L. Dolaway, 35, pleaded guilty to third-degree burglary last November. On Jan. 10, Essex County Court Judge Richard Meyer sentenced Dolaway to one-and-a-third to four years in state prison with a recommendation that he receive substance abuse treatment. He was also ordered to pay restitution, a crime victims fee and a $300 surcharge, and to submit a DNA sample, according to a press release issued by the Essex County District Attorney's Office.

On May 22, 2011, Ray Brook-based state police charged Dolaway with third-degree burglary, a felony, and possession of burglary tools, a misdemeanor. Dolaway was arrested after police found him at the scene of a burglary at Feek Pharmacy in downtown AuSable Forks.

Police said at the time that Dolaway was intoxicated and wearing a "Scream" movie mask when he was found inside the pharmacy. He was allegedly caught in possession of prescription pills, too.

Man sentenced on drug charges

In other court news, Meyer sentenced 22-year-old Cole Moody to time served and five years of probation following his October 2012 guilty plea to fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Moody was initially indicted by an Essex County grand jury on two counts of fourth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, a class C felony, and two counts of fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class D felony.

The district attorney's office said the original charges stemmed from an investigation into a narcotics case in Lake Placid.

Moody was also ordered to pay a crime victims fee, restitution and submit a DNA sample.
