SARANAC LAKE - Frank L. Bomyea, 84, formerly of Forest Home Road, died Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012, at the Uihlein Living Center in Lake Placid, where he had been a resident since 2002.
Born in Santa Clara on Oct. 28, 1928, he was the son of Charles and Ella (Cobb) Bomyea. Frank married Vernetta Green on June 21, 1953, in Saranac Lake. She predeceased him on Oct. 16, 2004.
Frank had been employed as a supervisor for the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation in Saranac Inn for 44 years until his retirement in 1989. He loved camping with his wife, hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his stepdaughter-in-law, Mary Kent of Saranac Lake; four grandchildren: Laurie McGill and her husband Andy of Saranac Inn, Sharon Wheeler and her husband Ben of West Lebanon, Eric Kent and his wife Mary of Cheyenne, Wyo., and Wayne Kent and his wife Missie of Lake Clear; and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father; mother; one stepson, Harrison Kent; three brothers: Orman, Leo and Richard Bomyea; three sisters: Mabel Lagree, May Monty and Ruth Rogers; and one grandson, Daniel Kent.
Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will take place at 2 p.m. Monday Nov. 5, 2012, at the Harrietstown Cemetery with the Rev. Michael Richards officiating.
