TUPPER LAKE - The Tupper Lake Volunteer Fire Department dealt with a structure fire Sunday at a local hunting camp.

Two trucks and 28 members responded to a report of a structure fire at 1087 Pitchfork Pond Road at 11:43 a.m. Sunday. It was the Township 15 Clubhouse, a hunting camp about 7 miles back into the woods.

"It took us a while to get there," said firefighter Joe Cormier.

A chimney fire got into the walls, and it was out when firefighters arrived, Cormier said. The fire department used 200 gallons of water to douse the smoldering boards.

Firefighters were back in service at 2:02 p.m.
