To the editor:
Matt Doheny cares. Over the past several months I have had a chance to meet both our candidates for Congress. While the incumbent was polite and shook my hand, he seemed more interested in the "big" people in the room. Matt, on the other hand, takes the time to listen and engage in conversation. When chatting with Matt, I get the feeling I'm talking to a friend I can trust. He's honest, caring and truly interested in addressing concerns.
Matt is one of us. He grew up in a humble home in Alexandria Bay. He went through college, like most of us, with scholarships and loans, and worked very hard to achieve his goals. Matt built a career out of his knack of turning around troubled companies, finding solutions toward their success. Why wouldn't we want to turn this talent loose in Congress?
The most amazing thing about Matt is his endless energy - the man's a Tesla coil of enthusiasm. He's been on the go for months now, getting out his message. Yet every time I see him engage a crowd, the room lights up with excitement. Matt's ability to harness so much energy will make him a force to reckon with in Washington.
It's that balance of selflessness, smart economic sense and vigor that makes Matt Doheny the perfect man to represent us in Congress.
I will be voting for Matt Doheny on Nov. 6. Will you join me?
