SARANAC LAKE - The public is invited to attend the village's first-ever civic testimonial dinner on Nov. 1, when a host of speakers will salute the American Management Association for its 57-year contribution to the community.
The event, which costs $35 per person, will be held at 6 p.m. in the Harrietstown Town Hall auditorium.
The guest of honor will be AMA CEO Edward T. Reilly, who will travel from the company headquarters in New York City for the occasion. Local and regional political and business leaders will talk about AMA's impact on the Saranac Lake area, including state Assemblywoman Janet Duprey, Essex County Board of Supervisors Chairman Randy Douglas, town of St. Armand Supervisor Joyce Morency and Saranac Lake Area Chamber of Commerce President Craig Stevens.
"The testimonial is an opportunity for the community to come together and express its gratitude and appreciation to AMA for providing jobs and economic enhancement to our community for well over a half a century," village Mayor Clyde Rabideau said in a press release.
The testimonial dinner is open to the general public. It's being coordinated by Katie Van Anden and catered by Nonna Fina restaurant.
Reservations can be made by calling 518-891-4150.
Rabideau said the village and its Local Development Corporation hope to sponsor more civic testimonials in the future, with the next one planned for May 2013.
