less than 20 % is a sickening turnout......... How disenfranchised people are..... or LAZY! It isn't about how we think things are going more than the fact that people are LAZY! 2647 eligible voters and a hair over 500 vote...... How sick!

The poor turnout is the problem of why we get self-serving candidates. I disagree with your analysis though. I don't think voters stay home because they like the incumbent. If that was true they would be even more motivated to vote to retain the known entity that they are happy with. Some don't vote because they think there's not much real choice but I think most just don't care, don't bother to inform themselves and can't be bothered to expend the energy to vote. I respect those I totally disagree with even though I may question their grasp of the facts or their reasoning but I have no respect at all for those who can't even be bothered to vote.

re:poolman137 Mar-18-14 1:07 PM was there a debate as like in the past elections?

Funny that more people had "signed up" at ADE on ThefacebookWall for the 2012 VSL Candidate Debate than had actually attended ---

Those debate things are driven by the political parties, but "The Press" looms large in pushing that process -

We look forward to your run for public office, Wondering, so that you may enlighten the masses...or a greater percentage of them at least. Regarding the election last night, it was a poor turnout indeed. The "Wal-mart" election of 2006 brought in a far greater percentage of eligible voters, a bit over 51%. I think most people are pretty smart and if content, they stay home. If they aren't content they go to the polls. Just my thought, not scientific but I also think that most politicians really do care what people think. I admit that I don't have the stomach for it and God bless those that do.

Our recent election sheds some light on politics in general. Rabideau was voted for by less than 15% of those eligible but he feels "validated" by the results. Of course he, like most other politicians, cares nothing for what most people think of his performance because most of them, roughly 81%, are too stupid or lazy to bother to vote.

was there a debate as like in the past elections? The coverage is lame on voting altogether...... By design my guess!

2047 eligible voters and I bet we won't get 800 of them...... Systems only work proper with proper participation .......

Did I miss something, Rhonda? I've yet to hear even one idea or proposal from Ms. Trummer. If she gave one or two, I'd like to know because I would need a big reason to change other than the fact you don't personally like Clyde.
