To the editor:

I’m writing to express my disgust regarding the recent revelation that Paula Collins, Democrat candidate for the NY-21 region, might potentially be using her campaign funds illegally to pay rent for her district residence (referencing a New York Post article dated June 29, 2024). This is a potential violation of federal election finance rules anyone can look-up.

If proven true, that Mrs Collins misused campaign donor funds, I believe she should immediately resign from her campaign and return every cent of misused funds. We need to send a clear message that this behavior will not be tolerated. NY-21 deserves much better than that! It’s no wonder people are cynical about politics when we see this blatant abuse of power and disregard for campaign finance laws. This kind of unethical practice erodes public trust in our political system.

How can we believe anything Collins says when she’s potentially willing to misuse funds entrusted to her by her supporters and calls for people to be put into re-education camps?
