Thanks for Stevenson column

To the editor:

A very big appreciation to your paper for printing the stories of Robert Louis Stevenson written by Mike Delehant under the title The Hunter’s Home, published every Thursday.

The articles began back Nov. 30, 2017, chronicling the Scottish author’s connection to Saranac Lake during his lifetime. What a bright and energetic gift he was to the world at large through his books and his relationships — all of which are kept alive in the Baker’s Cottage here in Saranac Lake.

Thank you, also, to Mike Delehant, curator of the RLS Museum at Baker’s Cottage, for his persistent attention to bring us up to date on history — not to be forgotten. What a fine tribute.

I have loved “A Child’s Garden of Verses” since my own childhood back in 1939 at 3 years old. The book quickly captured my own experiences. I marveled how his words could articulate my feelings; I wasn’t aware anyone knew how I felt. Now I have collected all the articles for home-school materials for my grandchildren.

Again, my profound thanks.
