Elect Rogers mayor again

To the editor:

Lake Placid is a small community with many of the assets but also the issues of a larger community. As such, we are very fortunate to have so many individuals willing to be public servants. It is never easy to put oneself in a position of leadership, and it is always important to be mindful that the people you run against and serve with are your neighbors. The residents of Lake Placid show time and again that this is a special community that looks out for its own and value a commitment to maintaining the unique characteristcs of the community. With that in mind, I urge you to support Jamie Rogers for village mayor. Jamie’s record of serving for the good of the community is long and deep.

Jamie has been a volunteer in many endeavors over the years including the Lake Placid North Elba Appearance Committee, the North Elba Tree Board, the Ecumenical Food Pantry, the Lake Placid Volunteer Ambulance Squad and the Rotary Club, to name a few. Jamie also has over 10 years of experience in Lake Placid village governent, including as mayor, during which many major upgrades were accomplished: the $14 million sewage treatment plant upgrade, the completion of Mid’s Park, redoing Mill Pond Drive and repaving Main Street. Parking upgrades were undertaken, energy efficiency projects were implemented, public transportation was expanded, and multi-year budgeting and asset management planning was initiated. These were all big steps forward for the village. Jamie has the commitment, the experience and the vision to guide Lake Placid forward with a balance for all members of the community.

On March 16, please consider voting for Jamie Rogers for mayor.
