Please run for president, Gov. Cuomo

To the editor:

Andrew Cuomo, our parents told us 70-some years ago that real leaders would rise up and save us and the world. They would tell us about Lincoln, who saved our nation and freed people that looked different than us. They told us about Churchill, Eisenhower, FDR, who saved the world from hate.

Later, when attending college in Boston, I was walking through Copley Square and asked my roommates, “What is going on over there?” Someone said, “That guy is running for president.” So I got in line and met Jack Kennedy! “Ask not what your country can do for you — ask what you can do for your country,” and, “We choose to go to the moon in this decade and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard.”

I miss him. Now at 77 years old, my president is telling us to ingest disinfectants.

Andrew, sir, please run for president.

We need leadership and science to help save our little planet. We need you now. Don’t do it for us; do it for the world.
