Grateful for Cape Air

To the editor:

Hi, I am writing to share my wife’s and my experience with our little airport and Cape Air. First, a little about us: Minda has lived here 20-plus years and I around 5-plus. We do foster care and have adopted a little guy with CF. We have been married four years and have had eight kids through our home. Two years ago we moved from Dorchester Road in the village to Saranac Inn to have more room for kids.

This December-January we found out Minda has stage 4 cancer, melanoma. Our little hospital is great — but we decided to go to Dana Farber (in Boston) for the best chance of survival. We are so blessed to have Cape Air right here! For just over $100 each person and a hour-and-a-half, we are in Logan (International Airport in Boston). Hit a Uber, and we are in Dana Farber in 20 minutes. This would be a six-hour drive! I know that it is a great expense to the town, towns and village, but not only does Cape Air bring tourists to our beautiful area; it is a huge blessing to people like my wife. The staff, not only at Cape Air but the whole airport, are amazing!

So to sum it up, thank you, thank you, thank you for having this service! It is truly a life saver for us! Please continue to support the airport and airline!
