To the editor:

I was never too good in history, but I am willing to bet the American Revolution was caused by a dispute between two rugby teams.

With players such as hookers and scrum halfs, it only stands to reason there would be violence, and along with drinking and swearing, what can you expect?

If I were a business person in the area, I would close up shop, pack up my wife and children, and get out of town on rugby weekend.

Every person I see on the street or drive by in a car are those rugby players.

I was once told by a very wise man, “Never let the truth get in the way of a good story.” Being both a former rugby player and a retired politician, I can certainly attest to this.
