To the editor:

Re: “The Latest: Russian UN envoy says Syria deal in trouble,” Sept. 18:

Since day one of the Syrian civil war, the United States has illegally intervened there, making ISIS stronger, due to its obsession with removing Bashar al-Assad and using Islamic terrorists to achieve this objective with the philosophy that “the enemy of my enemy must be my friend.” Predictably, the Western world (including the U.S.) has suffered much “blowback” as a result.

It’s time for the U.S. and its partners to leave Syria and let the Syrian people work out their differences on their own. Otherwise, it looks as if we’re on track for World War III very soon.
