To the editor:

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the many people that voted for the Olympic Center in the Kraft Hockeyville contest. It was a wonderful honor to have been selected as one of the 10 finalists. The selection to the top 10 is a testament to our region’s dedication to the great sport of hockey and to the building that has hosted countless hockey events.

A special thanks goes out to Diana Friedlander for the heartfelt essay that she wrote nominating the community. I would also like to thank they many others who wrote in nominating Lake Placid.

We are very fortunate to live in a community with such a storied sports history, complimented by a large group of talented and dedicated volunteers who have shown once again that we are proud of our community and will promote the town given any opportunity.
