Look to younger generation
To the editor:
Essex County has choices for the voters this year in the Essex County judge and county clerk races. The incumbents will face off with Brian Barrett, who is running for county judge, and Luke Hudak, who is running for county clerk.
Brian Barrett, who was endorsed by the Essex County Democratic Committee, is a criminal defense attorney from Lake Placid. He has represented clients in all courts, including federal court and Family Court. He is a former assistant district attorney and is a member of the New York State Rifle and Pistol Association, which has endorsed him. He has also been endorsed by the Local Steelworkers Union and former New York State Police Troop B Commander Maj. Peter Person. Brian is of the temperament and integrity to be a fair and impartial judge for the people of Essex County. He is approachable, affable and has the legal experience and personality to be an exceptional judge.
Luke Hudak, who is running for the position of Essex County clerk, is a graduate of St. Michael’s College and has elevated to the position of dean of students while teaching at North Country School in North Elba. Luke has been promoted in the areas of management and budget and has a proven record of running an efficient office. Hudak pledges to work within the guidelines and laws of the county clerk’s office, one reason why the Democratic Committee was pleased to endorse him. He has excellent people skills, understands computer technology and is eager and qualified to take on a new career.
We need to look to the younger generation for new ideas that work for our complicated and technological society. They are our future. Elected positions are not meant to be a lifetime career. Change is good and brings fresh ideas and new energy. Check the records and be sure to cast your vote on Nov. 3.
