To the editor:

I am writing on behalf of Brian P. Barrett, who is a candidate for Essex County court judge.

I have known Brian for the past 15 years, both in a professional capacity and more importantly as a true friend. Brian upholds the values instilled in him by his family. He has proven himself to be an outstanding attorney who understands not only the intricacies of the law but also the spirit of the law as it relates to justice for all. He has distinguished himself as a superb defense attorney in both the state and federal courts. Brian’s position has always been an approach of equality for those who require an unbiased and fair representative in our legal system. You will not find another individual with more integrity and a sincere interest in societal equality. I can say with confidence that Brian is one of the most intelligent people I have encountered in my lifetime. He is articulate, and one of the most down-to-earth people you will ever know. Brian will be an outstanding jurist representing not only the interests of the court but also the interests of his constituency in a fair and balanced manner utilizing common sense, logic and compassion in his decisions as a judge.
