May 3 was Teachers’ Day! We appreciate our teachers past and present, but today we’re highlighting Annie Baldwin, who operated the Baldwin School. She and her husband, Ernest H. Baldwin, ran the school, which provided an education to students who didn’t thrive in traditional schooling environments, largely due to illness. After Ernest’s death in 1922, Annie taught at the school for another 20 years. Thank you, teachers! Who is your favorite teacher in Saranac Lake history? Tell us about them! Send us an email at mail@historicsaranaclake.org or find us on social media.
