Come to the Fair Huge Success

The 61st annual Come to the Fair with its theme “Read! Recycle! Refresh!” was a huge success, realizing over $13,000 for the library, surpassing the 2015 amount. The Adirondack Crafts section offered a wide variety of items made by outstanding local craftspeople, while the Unique Boutique sold scarves, jewelry, purses and other attractive items. The Bakery Cafe sold a wide selection of goods baked by many of our best local bakers. Book sales in both the adult and children’s sections were brisk.

Thank you to all the volunteers who sorted, priced, cashiered and cleaned up, and to those who contributed items, baked their specialties, created craft items and came to the fair.

The fair volunteers, coordinated by Gloria Drucker, were led by Holly Huber, cashiers; Peter and Trish Lukens, treasurers.

Also, Wendy Brayshaw, Liz Johnson, Siobhan Crary and Linda Jackson, Bakery Cafe; Barbara Plumadore, Chris Bettner and Judy Kratts, Unique Boutique and Adirondack Crafts; Merle Smith, Jean Baltzly and Karen Smith, mass market paperbacks; Janet Lorenzo, Mary and Jim Abendroth, Marty Rowley, Bobbie Leamer and Don Morgan, Community Room books; Donna Fulkerson, young adult and children’s books; Joy Harvey, special books; Emily Warner, CDs and DVDs.
